Rock the Run!

KidneyCAN is excited to announce the first annual Rock the Run 5K fundraiser!

KidneyCAN was co-founded by Ralph Knapp, who said, “Raising funds for research, clinical trials, and finding a cure for kidney cancer has become my hope and passion.” KidneyCAN’s past fundraisers included two “Rock the Cure” events that raised over $300,000. These events embodied Ralph’s fun and electric personality and were filled with music, friends, and fellowship.

We lost Ralph in March 2022. To honor his memory and continue his quest to save lives, we are launching an annual Rock the Run fundraiser. Join us, and let’s accelerate cures for kidney cancer!

Let’s Accelerate Cures

We’re hosting a fun 5K in Philadelphia on October 7th at the Kidney Cancer Research Summit, but you’re invited to participate wherever you are and however you’d like!

You can sign up to raise money as an individual or team, and your hometown event can be as simple or big as you want to make it.

Maybe your local event is a neighborhood walk, a solo run, a bike ride, or a community hike. You can Rock the Run in any way that feels right to you!

The event fundraising window will close on October 15th, so you can have your event with us on October 7th or pick another day.

Whatever you choose to do, make sure you tell your friends and family about your story! Let them know why you are passionate about accelerating cures for kidney cancer!

ROCK THE RUN IN PHILLY

Rock the Run in Philly will take place at sunrise on the second day of the Kidney Cancer Research Summit. All KCRS registrants will receive a Rock the Run t-shirt and are invited to participate in this 5k.

Walkers will start at 6:00 a.m. outside the Sonesta Philadelphia. The race route takes us along Market Street to the Schuylkill River, and down to the iconic Rocky steps outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art. We’ll get a group photo there and then make our way back to downtown, for a total race distance of 5k.

Rock the Run is a fun, no-pressure event! You can join us to walk, run, or cheer and spectate. We are even offering an alternate yoga session for those who’d rather start their day with a stretch than traverse the sunrise streets of Philadelphia.

Register as an individual, or join one of our teams captained by some of the best kidney cancer researchers in the world!

ORGANIZE A LOCAL EVENT

Rock the Run in your hometown! Show your support for kidney cancer research funding by participating from anywhere. The goal is to spread awareness of the need for kidney cancer research funding and raise money to accelerate cures.

You can structure your local Rock the Run in any way that works for you. You might pledge to do your own 5k on October 7th, organize a community walk, take a family bike ride … or any other idea you can think of!

Register as an individual, or start a team with your friends and family. Tell everyone you know about your passion for this cause, and ask them to support our mission.

You can get your own Rock the Run gear as well!

Be sure to let us know what you’re working on, and we’ll amplify your efforts on social media! Thank you for Rocking the Run with us!

Fundraise Your Way

If Rock the Run isn’t the right time or event for you, you can still support our mission.

Celebrate your special events — whether a birthday or treatment milestone — or honor a loved one with a KidneyCAN fundraiser. There are many ways you can amplify your own giving and promote the work done by the kidney cancer community.

Need help? Please reach out and let us know how we can support your efforts!
