March is Kidney Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re turning up the volume on advocacy, education, and patient stories! This month, we’re heading to Washington, D.C., to fight for research funding, sharing a powerful series, “Faces of Kidney Cancer,” on social media, and inviting you to our next Town Hall. Read on to see how you can get involved.
In those meetings, we shared personal experiences and discussed critical issues facing the kidney cancer community to advocate for increased research funding.
While in D.C., we also met with researchers at the National Cancer Institute to learn about research in progress and what we can expect in the near future. We also attended a meeting at the White House with the Cancer Moonshot team to discuss federal support for cancer research.
In September, KidneyCAN returned to Washington D.C. for our Fall Advocacy Days to ensure that the kidney cancer community’s voice is heard loud and clear on Capitol Hill. More than 200 in-person and virtual meetings were scheduled to discuss the need for robust funding of the Kidney Cancer Research Program.
