Genetics and Kidney Cancer: From Family Risk to the Future of Patient Care

Should your children or grandchildren be concerned? When should you consider genetic testing—and what can the results actually tell you? Register for our Town Hall to learn live and ask the experts.

YOU’RE INVITED

Could kidney cancer run in your family?

Join KidneyCAN for a special Town Hall exploring what genetics means for kidney cancer patients and families today—and how new discoveries may shape care in the future.

Wednesday, October 28th
5:30-6:30 pm ET
Free Webinar via Zoom
KidneyCAN Community Social to follow!

Dr. Brian Shuch will discuss which kidney cancers are more likely to have an inherited genetic cause, when genetic counseling and testing should be considered, and what patients and families can expect from the testing process.

Dr. David Braun will look ahead at emerging research in tumor genomics, blood-based biomarkers, and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and how these advances may one day help detect recurrence earlier, monitor treatment response, and guide treatment decisions.

Have questions during the program? Genetic counselor Lindsey Byrne, MS, LGC, will join us to help answer questions submitted in the chat. She’ll also be available during our KidneyCAN Community Social immediately following the Town Hall, giving patients and caregivers an opportunity to ask questions and hear a genetic counselor’s perspective in a more informal setting.
