Congress passes, and the president signs, the FY26 appropriations bill, securing $15 million for the Department of Defense Kidney Cancer Research Program (KCRP). While this funding level remains below the previous years’ funding levels of  $50 million, it represents meaningful progress after the complete elimination of KCRP funding in FY25. Since kidney cancer research is historically underfunded, this investment reflects the impact of sustained advocacy and reinforces the urgency of continuing to restore robust, long-term kidney cancer research funding.
